Job ID 34447 Location Office of Medical Director Full/Part Time Full-Time Regular/Temporary Regular Overview The Emergency Medical Services (EMS)/Disaster Health Physician Fellow will provide support to the EMS Medical Director and Associate Medical Directors and will act as a direct representative of the EMS Medical Director and Orange County Government. Representative Duties Duties may vary based on area of responsibility Provide assistance to the EMS Medical Director and Associate Medical Directors in the areas of education, research, system development and quality improvement. Keeps abreast and maintains documentation for all research projects including institutional review board requirements, journal submission guidelines and project timelines. Performs other related duties as assigned. EMS: Develops educational programs for EMS providers within the EMS system to help meet recertification requirements. Develops educational programs for EMS providers and Community Partners on disaster health related issues. Responds to scenes when requested by the Medical Director or another agency. Attends confidential case reviews and maintains confidential records as part of the quality improvement program. Interacts with Physicians rotating within the Orange County EMS system for training. Disaster Health: Develops and review operational and medical guidelines related to disaster health, preparedness and pandemic response. Acts as physician liaison for medical (disaster) surge planning and responses with local medical community. Participates in the design and development of regional exercises. Minimum Qualifications Graduation from a school of medicine accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education(LCME). Upon completion of residency program, must obtain Board Certification in Emergency Medicine within two years of the completion date.
