Description: Emergency Medicine Physician Trainer / Medical Toxicologist Venesco, LLC has a part-time opportunity for an Emergency Medical Provider / Medical Toxicologist as an Instructor supporting our contract with the Chemical Casualty Care Division at Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland. This part time position is perfect for a SME looking for a rewarding role educating our Servicemen and women on the medical chemical effects of chemical warfare (CW) agents. This position will require you to be onsite at Aberdeen for several consecutive days each month. The rest of your hours will be working remotely on curriculum development. This role requires up to 768 hours per year / 64 hours per month. A Secret Clearance is required. In this role you will serve as the US Army Medical Research and Materiel Command’s (USAMRMC) technical and operational authority on the medical chemical effects of chemical warfare (CW) agents. In this capacity serves as the principal Department of Defense medical expert for the management of chemical casualties. The function is a DOD mission, and the position has a DOD wide, worldwide, interagency scope. The institute (MRICD) is the Army’s lead laboratory for medical chemical defense research and its mission is critical to national defense. Performs professional and scientific review and analysis work in internal medicine that combines sound principle of medical diagnosis, treatment, and management of chemical casualties with extensive knowledge of physiology, pharmacology, and pathology of chemical warfare agents to include methods and procedures to prevent or minimize CW injuries. The nature of the duties and responsibilities is such that a professional degree of Doctor of Medicine is a fundamental requirement. Program Educational Operation position is a key and essential role if USAMRICD- CCCD is to meet its objective to mitigate the consequences of human exposure to chemical warfare agents through education and training of individuals and teams. Responsibilities: Provides expert opinions and testimony on medical effects of CW agents, extrapolation of laboratory research to man in the areas of adverse agent effects and potential benefits and side effects of prophylactic and treatment drugs and methods. Directs the development of course content suitable for the designated audience. Serves as the DOD focal point and most knowledgeable source, consultant, advisor and instructor in the medical effects of chemical agents, and the appropriate treatment thereof. Provides highly advance technical guidance and information over a broad range of topics to senior civilian and military leaders and policy makers as well as other government agencies, government Contractors, civilian organizations, and foreign representatives. Provides expert medical consultant/witness on CW agent casualties, providing expertise and services throughout the federal government, civil agencies, and foreign nations, through the Department of State, as needed. Provides on-site professional assistance and investigation of chemical accidents. The Contractor shall analyze and interpret foreign science/technology information and exploit related medical chemical defense information. The Contractor is responsible for establishing advanced methods for providing distance learning opportunities for professional continuing medical education to (1) Tri-Service health care providers, (2) allied health care providers, (3) civilian first responders, and (4) medical trainers. The Contractor will coordinate input from other military services, research laboratories and from sources external to USAMRICD in order to achieve an integrated, comprehensive, multidisciplinary, multi-media presentation. The Contractor shall provide subject matter expertise (SME) support and advice to education research conducted at USAMRICD-CCCD and may act as a contributing author to any publications that result from that research. The Contractor shall provide support as needed for the Medical Management of Chemical and Biological Casualties (MCBC) Course Field Management of Chemical and Biological Casualties (FCBC) Course for the dates determine by CCCD Chief Requirements: Requirements: Degree of Doctor of Medicine (no exceptions) Expertise in MedTox, emergency medicine, occupational medicine, family medicine, or critical care would be ideal for fulfilling the instructional requirements. Experience developing curriculum and teaching training classes.
